Flavours & Fillings

All my ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality; I use only free range eggs, unsalted butter and as far as possible locally sourced, organic and fair-trade products. I never use packet cake mixes or bought cakes and they are all free from additives and preservatives.

    Flavours

    I can make cakes in a variety of flavours, the choice is yours:

      Vanilla Sponge – a delicious, moist, light sponge – a real crowd pleaser.
      Chocolate Sponge – a chocolate sponge ideal for children’s birthdays but also a favourite with the grown up children too.
      Chocolate Almond cake – moist, dense flavoursome chocolate cake with a delicate almond taste.
      Chocolate/Vanilla Marble cake –  for those who can't decide between chocolate or vanilla, you get the best of both in one cake.
      Lemon Sponge – a zingy moist cake which is always a popular choice.
      Madeira Cake – a dense cake which keeps well, it can also be flavoured with vanilla or lemon. Ideal for carved or heavily decorated cakes.
      Rich Chocolate Fudge Cake – a truly decadent chocolate cake flavoured with rich, dark Belgian chocolate.
      Carrot Cake – a moist, flavoursome cake which can be made to your own requirements (i.e with or without nuts and/or dried fruit)
      Red Velvet Cake – a real ‘wow’ cake with a light chocolate flavour but a hidden surprise…..when the cake is cut its red centre is revealed.
      Light Apple Fruit Cake – moist and stacked with best quality fruit, this cake is a lighter alternative to the more classic wedding/Christmas cake.
      Rich Fruit Cake – a more traditional, dark cake which is laced with brandy, crammed with dried fruit, nuts and cherries and designed to keep longer. Ideal for weddings and Christmas….this cake is better made at least two months before the event.

     

    Fillings

    Each cake can be filled with your own preference:

      Light, fluffy buttercream – plain, chocolate, lemon or orange.
      Chocolate ganache – perfectly complements the rich chocolate fudge cake.
      Jam/preserves of your choice – strawberry, raspberry, lemon can be included and are often teamed with buttercream.
